Uranus - The Magician

This artwork is based on Gustav Holsts The Planets, Op-32: 6. Uranus, the Magician. I challenged myself to paint Uranus as a personification of all of it's titles: as a magician, as the god of the sky, a cosmic entity if you will, while still staying true to him actually being a gas planet. I chose to depict him in a way inspired by cosmic horror and the art of Peter Mohrbacher.
